Set within the Owen Brown planned village in Columbia Maryland, this interfaith center is not only a religious facility but a community center. The congregation voted to expand the church and add a 500 seat worship space. The 12,000 square foot addition will double their current facility and also include additional classrooms, an office suite and a commercial kitchen.
The addition is sited to take advantage of the site conditions so both levels can celebrate views and light. The sanctuary is designed to capture the views of dedicated open space and the forest beyond. The chapel is connected to the sanctuary via a folding glass wall which will allow for overflow seating on holidays.
